Oli Valur Steindorsson

CEO & Chairman

A native of Icelandic fishing village Akranes, Mr. Steindorsson moved to Tokyo at the age of 19 to pursue a career in the global seafood industry.

Through his extensive experience in Japan, he has mastered the country’s language and culture and established a wide network of customers and contacts in the seafood trade worldwide. Mr. Steindorsson is married with 4 children.

Tim Fitzpatrick

Chief Financial Officer

Tim Fitzpatrick joined Umami as CFO on January 5, 2012. Mr. Fitzpatrick served as general counsel of Mindray Medical International Limited, a NYSE listed company, from September 2006 to June 2011. Prior to joining Mindray, he worked as an attorney in the United States and in Hong Kong. Mr. Fitzpatrick received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg-HKUST Executive MBA Program in Hong Kong, his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles, his M.A. from the University of California at San Diego, and his B.A. from Hamilton College. Vilhelm M. Guðmundsson

Managing Director of Oceanic Enterprises, wholly owned subsidiary of Umami

A native of Siglufjordur, a fishing village in Iceland, Mr. Gudmundsson acquired a BS in Economics from the University of Iceland. Upon graduation he moved to Mexico where he pursued a career in the local seafood industry. He became the Managing Director of Baja Aquafarms in 2006.

Benito Sarmiento

CEO of Baja Aqua Farms

Benito holds a degree in Chemical Engineering. He has over 10 years of experience from working in the Mexican seafood industry. He has been employed by Baja since 2006 and previously held a managerial position of two subsidiaries of the company. He became CEO of Baja Aqua-Farms in late 2010.

Miro Mirkovic

Managing director of Kali Tuna, Board of Directors Kali Tuna

Mr. Mirkovic has been working in the seafood industry in Croatia for more than 20 years including more than ten years at the Board and General Manager level. Previously worked in the Merchant Navy as Chief Officer on Super Tankers. His has been the president of Croatia’s Chamber of Commerce’s fishery section since 2004. Miro has been a member of Croatian delegation in negotiation for EU membership since 2005 and member in Croatian delegation to ICCAT. Miro is married with two children.

Karl Petur Jonsson

VP of Corporate Communications

An Icelandic national, Mr. Jonsson is a veteran Public Relations consultant, having established his first consultancy in 1991. Former positions include Director of Communications for Atlantis Group, Umami’s largest shareholder. Mr. Jonsson holds a BS degree in Political Science from the University of Iceland and an MBA from Reykjavik University.
